Marlin scores top-10 finish at Vegas.

Las Vegas, Nevada (March 2, 2003) --- Sterling Marlin drove his Coors Light Dodge to his first top-10 finish of the 2003 season. Marlin was the second highest finishing Dodge driver, taking the checkered flag in eighth place.

Marlin started the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 in 34th position. Last year, Marlin won the race while starting 24th. The Coors Light Dodge consistently moved up through the field during the day and Marlin reached the top-5 halfway through the race.

Marlin raced in the top-10 for the entire second half of the race before eventually taking the checkered flag in eighth place. Marlin is currently 19th in NASCAR Winston Cup Championship standings.

"We were just no match for those Chevrolets," Team Manager, Tony Glover said. "We just didn't run very good, nothing like we needed to. We just got beat. I guess that's about all you can say. We just weren't as good as we were here last year, and everybody else is obviously a little bit better. We chased it all day long and got it pretty decent at one point, but we just didn't run as well as we needed to.

"On the bright side, Sterling got his first top-10 of the season. Jamie (McMurray) had another good run going, but I think something happened to the rear end before he had his problems, and Casey (Mears) was the top finishing rookie in the race. We'll take what we got, pack up and head to Atlanta next week and try again."
