FIFTY-TWO LAPS RUN DURING THAT LAST PRACTICE SESSION, HOW IS YOUR MOBIL 1 DODGE HEADING INTO RACE DAY? "I think that we were pretty good during the last session. We started off way too tight and made some adjustments to loosen the car up a bit. We ran a lot of laps and I feel real comfortable with the track. The crew on the Mobil 1 Dodge was really busy today and even busier yesterday when I tore the car up a bit. I'm proud of the car they gave me and all the work they did to get us ready. I think that as a team we're getting better and better every week. I'm looking forward to tomorrow and getting out there and racing."

WHAT WOULD YOUR FIRST CUP WIN MEAN TO YOU? "It would mean a lot. I look forward to getting 'a' Cup win sometime in the near future. I don't know if it will come this year or next, but getting a win is a sign that we're getting better as a race team. We're trying to focus on top 10s and top fives in hopes of becoming a more consistent race team first. When we hit on everything one day and get a win, it changes the whole moral of the team and will even change my confidence level. Maybe this is the weekend."

WITH THE COOL TEMPERATURES AND SPEEDS THAT THE CARS ARE REACHING, IS THERE ANY CONCERN FOR TIRE WEAR TOMORROW? "I don't think so. I think Goodyear has done an excellent job so far. We've had no issues going out on sticker tires. Usually we get to Charlotte and Vegas in the past, drivers have been like Bambi on ice the first couple of laps. Sam (Hornish Jr.) felt real secure on stickers and we got some good lap times on them. Long run wise, we're not seeing any issues. We're not seeing any heat issues whenever we've done our tire temperature stuff. I'm excited about the race. I think that Goodyear made good improvement for us with the grip and that's where the speed is coming from. I don't think that we'll have a tire issue tomorrow."

WILL THE SPEEDS CREATE A FUEL MILEAGE ISSUE? "I think that you're going to see a lot of two-tire stops. Track position is going to be huge because the tires don't fall off a ton. A place like Fontana last week you could fall off a couple of seconds during a run, it would make sense to take four (tires) and just go. The way it's going to be tomorrow, track position is going to be pretty key for us. Fuel mileage is always an issue whenever you have a tire that runs fast for so long. The fall-off range here is in the half-second range over a full run versus some other places where you have a lot more."
