STERLING MARLIN (No. 40 Coors Light Dodge Intrepid R/T)

NOTE: Dating back to the last three races of 2001 and the first three races in 2002, UAW-Daimler Chrysler 400 winner Sterling Marlin has recorded six straight top 10 finishes. He has five top fives in those six events, three runner-up finishes and a victory. Marlin leads the 2002 NASCAR Winston Cup standings by 75 points over Ryan Newman. Marlin's win, Dodge's second victory of the season gave, gave Dodge a 24-21 advantage over Ford in the season-long manufacturers standings.

"All these guys did a great job today. Everything worked good for us today. We changed the car this morning. We weren't real good yesterday. We probably had a 10th-place car, so we decided to go for the win. We changed it up and hit right on it. We changed some springs and shocks. Daytona was a heart breaker, but the guys kept working real hard and we bounced back. When I saw that last caution I said, 'oh no, not again.' Everybody didn't pit because track position means so much. It worked out great."

TONY GLOVER (Team Manager Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates)

"We sure needed this. The team did a heck of a job today, and what about that driver. He gets better every week. He's 44 and he's fixing to be 45. I can't wait to see how good he is when he gets to be 55. He's on the top of his game right now. He called me at 5 o'clock this morning and said he was ready to meet me and get to the track. We knew we couldn't pit on that last caution. Twenty guys were on the lead lap, so we knew we had to stay out and bite the bullet. We had a good car, and everything worked out great."

JEREMY MAYFIELD (No. 19 Dodge Dealers Intrepid R/T)

"It seemed like it was about track position the whole day. We were real good on long runs. We were probably as fast or faster than anybody out there. We never could get up there. We were losing so much at the beginning, but my hat's off to this Dodge Dealers Dodge race team. We've been clicking and getting better and to get a second-place finish in our third race together is great. We got up front when we needed track position, and we were able to capitalize on it. I think we would have been all right on a long run with the two new tires, but we kind of leveled off there. We just didn't have enough laps left. The car had been running good all day. We kept digging.

"We were there all day. We had the speed. We got behind a little bit at the start of the race. We knew before it started we were going to be a little bit loose. We kept tightening it up and the track came to us. I can't enough about the team. It's been cool. I've watched it grow every week. We've got better three weeks in a row. We knew we might be in trouble on the last restart, but we got up front and we had a shot to win the race. It feels real good to run up front. That's where we want to be."

"We had a real good shot at being in the top five. We started the race off real loose. It was so loose I could hardly drive it, so we opted to pit at the beginning and that kind of got us behind. We kept working on it and it got better. We got in the top 10 and on that last caution we put two tires on it and got track position. I think the guys made a great decision there."

JIMMY SPENCER (No. 41 Target Dodge Intrepid R/T)

"We had a really good car today, but the track really got tight for us. We could never get the balance back after that first run. The guys did good today in the pits. The motor was great and the car was prepared great. Top 10 in the third race with a new team, that ain't too bad. It was a hell of a race there at the end with the new tires. Leading the race felt good, but after 50 laps or so I felt the track getting slicker and the rubber getting on it. I knew my car was starting to slip. I knew the shocks Sterling had on versus ours were better, and that's what we need to do as a race team. We're building a good relationship. We're starting out with a clean book, and we're running a lot of Sterling's stuff, and that's why we ran so good today. I knew Sterling had the car to beat after the race went on. His car had good balance and a lot of grip, and it stayed with him all day. That's what you need. When the balance goes away, you usually have a little something wrong with the front shocks or the rear shocks. I'm just glad Sterling won that thing."

BILL ELLIOTT (No. 9 Dodge Dealers Intrepid R/T)

"That was another good run. We've been pretty consistent in the first three races. That was our best finish of the season, and we're holding our on in the point standings. That last two-tire stop worked out pretty good for track position. We're off to a pretty good start, and we'll just keep trying to get better."

WARD BURTON (No. 22 Caterpillar Dodge Intrepid R/T)

"That wasn't a great run, but it could have been worse. We got a lap down and just couldn't get a break to make it back up. We were hoping for a better run here, but we're looking forward to Atlanta next week."

HUT STRICKLIN (No. 23 Hills Bros Coffee Dodge Intrepid R/T)

"The car was good. We got behind on one pit stop and it was just one of those things. We were loose and got it tightened up and got it pretty good. We just couldn't ever get it where I could kill it."

KYLE PETTY (No. 45 Sprint Dodge Intrepid R/T)

"Something broke on the car, and I couldn't drive it there at the end. We ran good the first part of the race. We didn't run good the last part. Our pit stops were terrible. I think we got people out of the grandstand to change tires."

JEREMY MAYFIELD (No. 19 Dodge Dealers Intrepid R/T)
