Ganassi racer taken to local hospital for further evaluation
MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Ganassi Racing confirmed that Kyle Larson has been taken to a local hospital for further evaluation after fainting during an autograph session at his merchandise trailer following final practice.
Larson, 22, was initially seen at the Martinsville Speedway infield care center. A team spokesman expects the driver “to be ok”.
Larson qualified seventh for Sunday’s STP 500. He was 21st fastest in Happy Hour but posted the 14th best 10 consecutive lap average.
The driver of the No. 42 Target Chevy is in his second season in the Sprint Cup Series. He has two top 10 finishes this season and is currently 19th in the point standings.
