Kevin Ward Jr. investigation complete - Results to be announced next week

The findings of the investigation have been sent to the DA's office.

The Ontario County Sheriff's Office has completed their investigation into the death of Kevin Ward Jr. and have sent their findings to the DA's office. An announcement regarding what action will be taken (if any) will be revealed next week, according to the following statement.

"The entire thorough investigation, including a forensic video enhancement recently received from the New York State Police Laboratory in Albany, has been submitted to the Office of the Ontario County District Attorney for review,’‘ said Sheriff Philip Povero.

“The District Attorney’s Office, which has been meeting throughout the investigative process with members of the Sheriff’s Office, will make a statement late next week advising what action will be taken regarding the investigation.’’

Stewart ceased all racing activites for three weeks following the tragedy. He returned at Atlanta and though NASCAR allowed him to remain eligible due to the 'special circumstances,' he still failed to make the Chase.
