Kevin Harvick took his second consecutive victory at the Chicagoland Motor Speedway this afternoon after his Richard Childress Racing team elected to not to pit on the final caution of the race.

Harvick had just enough fuel to lead Jeff Gordon to the checkered flag, but not enough to roll in to victory circle; his team had to push the car there.

"Gil Martin [crew chief] made the call not to stop," said Harvick. "I would like to thank Johnny Sauter, he taught yesterday [in the Busch race] that track position is everything here."

Harvick moved from ninth to first by not pitting. Jeff Gordon tried to chase him down, but Gordon's car developed a push every time he tried to overtake.

Ryan Newman dominated the race, but a flat right front tire with 28 laps to go set him back to fifth finishing position.

Jeff Gordon was second, followed by Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, and Ryan Newman.
