SCHRADER'S THOUGHTS HEADING INTO THE MICHIGAN 400: * "Michigan is not one of my better tracks," said Schrader. "I have struggled there over the years. The track is real flat and I just don't get around it real good. I think it would help me some if they painted lines on the track so I'd know where to run (just kidding). You don't run on the bottom through the turns like you do at most tracks, you actually run in the middle of the track through the turns. It is a bit challenging to get around Michigan." CREW CHIEF SHOP TALK: * "Our finish at Dover last week was a real heart breaker," said Sam Johns. "The Skoal Racing team had worked so hard to get the No. 33 prepared for 400 miles at Dover. The No. 33 was set-up almost the same as the No. 55 and they ran in the top five until they got tangled up in an accident. That reassured us that we would have had a real competitive car for the race."

"We're taking our Charlotte car to Michigan this weekend," said Wally Rogers, car chief for the No. 33 Skoal Racing Monte Carlo. "Although we've struggled at Michigan, we feel we've made gains since last year. Our motors have improved a lot and Michigan is definitely a motor track. The motor department has been working just as hard as the chassis department."

SKOAL RACING TEAM NEWS: * Schrader was at his track, I-55 Speedway in Peveley, Mo., on Wednesday. Richard Petty was on hand to sign autographs for the fans. After signing autographs, Schrader and Petty took in some good short track racing on the 1/3-mile dirt oval.
