You are bringing car 29 that recently had a new body put on it. You seem excited about your prospects for the weekend?

"Yes I am. Gary (Cogswell) and I worked together on how we wanted this car reskinned. We went over all the cars in our inventory and found a few things we wanted to revise on some of them so this is our first collaboration. I am pretty excited about racing this car. We were originally going to run this car at Charlotte but we feel really confident about it so we are pushing up its debut by a week. I am gunning for the pole and a top-10 finish."

Your driving style seems to adapt well to this type of track configuration. Why?

"That's a really good question and I don't have an answer for it. I like racing at all the tracks we go to but for some reason, the D-shaped tracks seem to fit my style. I've run well at Las Vegas and Chicagoland and both of those tracks have the same amount of banking as Kansas. Since they also have the same feel, we can compare our race notes from Vegas and Chicago. Hopefully, we will come up with the right combination for qualifying and the race."

You are planning to run both the Busch and Cup events. Are you looking forward to doing double duty?

"Actually, I am. The Busch deal is just a one-race deal to help out George deBidart and his No. 48 IMI race team. I thought it was a great opportunity for me because it gives me extra seat time. We weren't able to come to Kansas and test the National Guard car so hopefully what I learn on Saturday will transfer over to Sunday's race."
