CHARLOTTE, NC (September 25, 2008) - After a successful two-day test at Lowe's Motor Speedway earlier this week, Gordon and his No. 7 Menards team head to Kansas Speedway with a renewed sense of optimism, hoping to continue their upward performance trend in recent weeks and increase the gap in the tight points race.
Testing at Lowe's - As the two-day Cup test came to an end on Wednesday evening, the No. 7 team was satisfied with their performance. Gordon posted the 13th fastest time with a top speed of 184.483.
Thoughts on Testing - "We had two really good days of testing. We went there with our latest chassis / geometry and were able to learn a lot. The car seemed to be real good in both qualifying and race trim. We can't wait to go back and race in couple weeks," Gordon commented on the test.
Kansas Speedway - Gordon has been to the 1.5 mile oval six times in the Cup Series recording three top-20 finishes. He also has two Nationwide Series starts at Kansas Speedway, once in 2001 and again in 2004.
Thoughts on Kansas - "There are eight races left this season, and our goal now is just to build momentum for 2009. I had some strong runs at Kansas in the past, and I think we will be competitive this weekend," Gordon said. "We hope to apply what we learned at the test this week to the race in Kansas."
Appearance Schedule - Robby Gordon will appear his souvenir trailer on Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m.
