Robby Gordon's Quotes for Kansas
What about Kansas do you like or dislike?
"I like Kansas because it's one of those mile-and-a-half tracks where we've been able to find some success at this year. We've stepped up our game when it comes to our intermediate program. Whether it's spending more time in the wind tunnel or testing, we have more notes to work off of. If I can keep the wheels on it and we make good, solid adjustments to a race track with a groove that tends move around during the race, we can make a run at a top-five finish."
You fell a few spots in the points thanks to a flat tire and contact with the wall last weekend in Dover, is the team able to rebound and is 20th still a realistic goal?
"It seems like every time we get within reach of the top 20 we get pulled back. We get so close I can almost taste it. Nobody said that it was going to be easy, and we definitely don't have that much time left. We just need to have a couple consistent finishes inside the top 10 and we should make our goal. Our improvement this year has been significant, and we're just looking for more consistency out of everyone including the driver. We realize that DNF's are going to happen no matter how much you prepare or no matter how much information you bring to the track every weekend. If we can eliminate the issues that you can control then we should be a competitive threat week-in-and-week-out."
