STATESVILLE, N.C. -- Kansas Speedway is a special place to Gillett Evernham Motorsports.

In 2005, driver Kasey Kahne led 11 laps and took the Ragu Dodge to victory lane marking the team's first NASCAR Nationwide Series victory. Since the inaugural victory, GEM visited victory lane four more times with Kahne.

This weekend Kahne returns to the series and the No. 9 Ragu Dodge. This race wasn't originally on the 7-time winner's schedule, but added after Kahne missed the Las Vegas race due to illness. Saturday afternoon's race marks Kahne's 150th appearance in the series.

KASEY KAHNE:

"Our friends at Ragu have been great supporters of Gillett Evernham Motorsports since we started the program. I wasn't able to run their race at Vegas because I had a sinus infection but I wanted to make that up to them this weekend at Kansas.

"Kansas means a lot to both GEM and I. Back in 2005, we were able to race our way to victory and earn GEM its first win in that Series. It would be awesome if we could get another victory there. I think it's a fun track and it's a group of fans we don't get around as much as we would like."

Kahne's Season: In eight starts, Kahne has led 29 laps, earned one top five and four top-10 finishes. He has two top-five and four top 10 starts. The No. 9 team is 16th in owner points.
