Joey Gase will get his shot at the pinnacle of stock car racing in a few weeks.
Joey Gase, who has 66 career starts in NASCAR's Nationwide Series, will make his Sprint Cup debut in the No. 32 machine with Go FAS Racing on September 14th, at Chicagoland Speedway. The race plays host to the opening round of the Chase.
Gase has finished as high as 11th in his Nationwide career and also has starts in K&N and ARCA. He's been competing full-time with Jimmy Means at the Nationwide level this year, sitting 20th in the championship standings at the moment.
Gase is a 21-year-old from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The racer said in a release, "I am very excited and thankful that Archie and the entire team are giving me this opportunity. My Nationwide Series career started with Go FAS in 2011 which led to a great 20th place finish. Hopefully I can get another good finish with the team on the 14th in my first ever cup start.”
Eddie Macdonald made his Cup debut with the same team earlier this year, finishing 35th at New Hampshire.
