(Hampton, GA) March 9, 2001 --- Qualifying has just concluded for Sunday's running of the Cracker Barrel 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The CITGO SUPERGARD Ford Taurus team is now busy in the garage preparing for tomorrow morning's final practice. Burton qualified his CITGO SUPERGARD machine in 42nd position, but will start from 37th as a provsional starter.

"We never qualify like we want to. I am still looking for an Atlanta qualifying set up that is comfortable to me." The CITGO SUPERGARD Ford drove out onto the track 19th out of 46 cars. The lap was going well until Burton drove into turn four. "Today I got really loose off of four and I had to come back out of the gas. And here, you have to stay in the gas all the time to qualify well."

Burton is ready to move on and ready to move up through the field come Sunday. Today's qualifying result is by no means a reflection on how the CITGO SUPERGARD Taurus will run on race day. "In race trim we run really competitive here. We've had the chance to win a bunch of races, we just haven't pulled it off yet."

Burton and his CITGO SUPERGARD Ford Taurus race team looks forward to pulling off their first win of the NASCAR Winston Cup season on Sunday. The race will air LIVE at 1pm ET on FOX.
