Doubts arise on Tony Stewart's participation at Michigan this weekend.
Stewart-Haas Racing's Mike Arning told USA Today that 'the decision to compete will be Tony's' and that he has yet to make a call. This is more complex than deciding not to race at Watkins Glen however.
If Tony Stewart does not race at Michigan, he will render himself ineligible for the Chase, no matter what he does in any other event afterwards. Sponsors could very well force his hand as well.
Stewart's name is listed on the preliminary entry list, but that could of course change at any time. With Regan Smith in Mid-Ohio, we would likely see a different driver behind the wheel of the No. 14 if Stewart makes the call to sit it out.
