Roush drivers comment on what would it mean to win the Brickyard 400:
Mark Martin, No. 6 Viagra Ford Taurus:
"I think we've what we've been through as a team this year, winning the Brickyard 400 could help make our season. It's a big race, with a big check and a big trophy that would mean an awful lot to a lot of people to win. It's hard to weigh one race over another, because there was a race last week and there will be one next week, but the Brickyard is a big deal and it would mean a lot to me and this team to be able to go to victory lane on Sunday. When we had a problem late in the race at Chicago it about broke our hearts, but we said 'hey, lets go and win the Brickyard,' and that is what we are going to try and accomplish. I don't know if there is any added pressure, because that is what we try to do each week, win races. But I can't deny that we would really like to win this one this weekend."
Jeff Burton, No. 99 Roush Racing Ford Taurus:
"It would certainly be great to win at Indy. It's truly a privilege to race at the Brickyard. There's so much history there and it would be awesome to be a part of that. I don't think the preparation or the pressure is any different from any other race we run during the year however. I think a win would be a little more special but the preparation and pressure doesn't change."
Matt Kenseth, No. 17 DeWalt Ford Taurus:
"To win Indy would be any racer's dream. Everyone would like to say that they captured a victory there because it's so prestigious. We came pretty close last year by finishing second. Our plan this year is to finish one spot better."
Greg Biffle, No. 16 National Guard Ford Taurus:
"As a racecar driver, a win anywhere is memorable but when you think of racing in the U.S., most people think of Daytona and Indy. Both tracks have a lot of history and to stand in Victory Lane in either would be a career highlight. I got my first Nextel Cup win at Daytona last July and I would love to add a win at the Brickyard."
Kurt Busch, No. 97 Sharpie/Irwin Ford Taurus:
"Everyone wants to win at Indy, no matter what form of motorsports you're competing in. We've had some good finishes here, but we'd love to be able to cross that yard of bricks first when the checkers come out on Sunday afternoon. It would certainly help us out from a points' perspective as well. But with the number of races until the Chase for the Championship, I think the pressure will be consistent until the final ten are locked in. Indy hands out the same amount of points as every other track at the end of the day, but there is definitely something very special about this place."
