"We'll take it. I'm new at this place and I'm not sure what fast is yet. Our Penske Dodge Charger ran a good lap. We were better than we were in practice and I'm really encouraged by that. Hopefully, we can find some things that will carry over to race trim. We'll keep working on it and see if we can have a strong run here in both cars this weekend."
KURT BUSCH (No. 2 Miller Lite Vortex Dodge Charger) Qualified 14th
"Nothing spectacular, just a little tight all the way around the track. We've just been fighting loose in race trim and tight in qualifying. We've been trying to merge the two together to teach ourselves something. We were tight again in qualifying, so hopefully that will teach us something for direction for race trim. We've got two more cracks at practice this afternoon in our Miller Lite Dodge. We'll just see what happens."
SAM HORNISH JR (No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger) Qualified 25th
"Definitely here with how early qualifying starts, the earlier you can go off the better you're going to be. We were just way too tight. We were too free getting into the corners yesterday, so we worked all through our second practice session trying to make the car better on entry. It got better on entry, but we screwed it up on exit. We'll just have to keep working away at it. The good thing about running here at Indianapolis is that we get four practice sessions as opposed to our normal two. That will give us more time to try and get things done and figure out exactly where we need to be."
