REUTIMANN'S BURGER KING TOYOTA CAMRY SIMPSONIZED AT THE BRICKYARD
CORNELIUS, N.C. (July 23, 2007) -- David Reutimann will be carrying an up and coming movie star on his No. 00 BURGER KING® Toyota Camry at the Brickyard this week. On July 27, THE SIMPSONS MOVIE will be released and Reutimann's NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series entry for the Allstate 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway will feature a customized Simpsons-themed paint scheme.
"I've watched numerous episodes of 'The Simpsons' over the years and I know the movie is going to be really funny," Reutimann said. "If I had to compare myself to a character on the show, it would have to be Bart Simpson because he's always getting into something. I have lived vicariously through him. I really never got into trouble growing up because I was too scared to get in trouble. If I got in trouble, I knew that would mean that I wouldn't be able to race the next weekend."
Reutimann has always wondered how he would look if he was a Simpson character and this week he was able to transform himself by visiting Simpsonizeme.com, which was recently launched by Burger King Corp. Simpsonizeme.com is an interactive website that uses HAVE IT YOUR WAY® technology to convert digital photos of consumers into personalized Simpsonized versions of themselves. The result is a character that would feel right at home in Springfield.
"Now, anyone can get a yellow makeover," Reutimann said. You can choose your own hairstyle, body type, outfits and so on. It's so much fun. I encourage everyone to go to Simpsonizeme.com and get Simpsonized."
Fans will also have a chance to be Simpsonized in a specialized photo booth that Burger King Corp. will set up in the Toyota Pit Pass Experience display at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
"Burger King Corp. will have a traveling Simpsonizer," Reutimann said. "Fans can immediately print their transformed photo, which is so cool. I can't wait until race weekend because the car looks great and we're looking forward to representing THE SIMPSONS MOVIE at the Brickyard."
With the prestige of the Brickyard, it is one track Reutimann has always wanted to race at over the years.
"That place has so much history," Reutimann said. "It's legendary. I've watched so many races there on television and there are a couple of things that stand out. I'll always remember Jeff Gordon's first Brickyard victory. Also, it was so cool when Tony (Stewart) won there too because he's an Indy guy. Just to be among winners like that at this famed track will be something that I'll never forget. We're dedicated and focused on being there Sunday and bringing home a good finish with the No. 00 BURGER KING® Toyota Camry."
