Brickyard 400 tickets on sale Friday, Feb. 13

INDIANAPOLIS, Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004 -- Tickets for the 11th annual Brickyard 400 will go on sale to the public Friday, Feb. 13, two days before the 2004 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series season starts with another crown jewel of the series schedule, the Daytona 500.

The Brickyard 400 is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 8 on the historic, 2.5-mile oval at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Kevin Harvick will attempt to become the first driver to win the race two years in a row.

IMS offers four convenient methods for fans to purchase tickets for the Brickyard 400, one of the most prestigious events on the NASCAR schedule:

*Online, at www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com. Click on the Tickets link near the top of the page. Tickets can be purchased 24 hours per day, seven days per week online.

*By phone, by calling the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Ticket Office at (800) 822-INDY or (317) 492-6700. The Ticket Office is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (EST), Monday through Friday.

*By mail, by sending a completed ticket application and payment to Brickyard 400 Tickets, P.O. Box 24152, Indianapolis, IN 46224.

*In person, by visiting the Ticket Office on the first floor of the Speedway Administration Building at the corner of 16th Street and Georgetown Road in Indianapolis. The Ticket Office is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (EST), Monday through Friday.

The IMS Ticket Office will be open from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14 and from noon-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15.

All previous online and mail orders have been processed, said Peggy Swalls, Indianapolis Motor Speedway vice president of administration. Tickets from those orders will be mailed by April 1, Swalls said.

Fans can check the status of their order, including their seat assignment, at www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com. Click on the Tickets link near the top of the page, and fans can access their account with their account information and Customer Code from the Tickets section of the site.
