Denny Hamlin is going for broke this weekend. For Hamlin, it is gratification enough that he made the Chase for the Nextel Cup in his first full time year in NASCAR's elite series. And while his chances are slim, Hamlin is not ready to roll over just yet.

"I am going to drive harder this weekend than I have driven all year," said Hamlin. "They are going to get 125% of me the entire 400 miles."

Hamlin readily admits that for parts of the first nine Chase races that he may raced more conservatively than he should have; but now with one race to settle the 2006 title Hamlin is ready to pounce should the No. 48 team of Jimmie Johnson falter.

Hamlin sits just 90 points out in fourth place.

"I laid back a little and it didn't work out for us," Hamlin explained. "If we give a 110% this weekend then we have a legitimate shot at the 48 for us there is no difference from second to tenth. We are going to try and win everything."

The biggest challenge Hamlin will face is his lack of experience at Homestead-Miami Speedway, he has only raced here a handful of times. What's going for him is his attitude.

At a press event at the Doral Resort in Miami Beach Hamlin and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. were seated at a separate table from the top three drivers (Johnson, Matt Kenseth and Kevin Harvick). Hamlin and Earnhardt named their area the 'slim chance' table and were far more laid back then the other racers.

Johnson was visibly clenched. Not a good sign for the driver everyone is watching to choke.

"That's what it's all about," said Hamlin. "If the 48th has trouble then he just invited four other people back into this championship."
