BDR signs Waltrip: Bill Davis Racing and Michael Waltrip have made it official. Waltrip signed a one year deal with BDR to drive a yet numbered car sponsored by Napa Auto Parts.
"I like the way Bill does business and he has created a strong organization," Waltrip explained. "NAPA and I look forward to continuing our winning ways at Bill Davis Racing on the track, as well as extending our successful marketing efforts off the track."
After 10 million dollar bid - Gordon's helmet yanked: Robby Gordon put the helmet he tossed at Michael Waltrip's car last weekend at New Hampshire for sale on Ebay to raise money for Hurricane Katrina victims.
Problem was that tricksters bid the helmet over $10 million prompting Ebay to reset the auction and get a third party to validate the bids.
Currently, Gordon's helmet is going for over $50,000. Bids can be placed at: www.cgi.ebay.com/Signed-Robby-Gordon-Race-Thrown-Helmet-for- Charity_W0QQitemZ5246187188QQcategoryZ50121QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZView Item
Biffle to make TV debut: Greg Biffle will make a guest appearance on CBS "Yes Dear" on October 5th. He will guest as one of the competitors in a lawn mower race.
Stewart/Biffle wreck twice at Charlotte testing: Greg Biffle and Tony Stewart crashed on both Tuesday and Wednesday during test sessions at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
"It's better, but I only ran three laps yesterday so I'm not really able to make a comparison," Stewart said. "All the rubber that's being put down is helping. But what scares me is that all the rubber is being put down in one groove, and I'm not sure we are going to be able to pass."
Neither driver was injured in the crash but Biffle wrecked his primary intermediate race car - the one he planned to drive in four of the last nine races.
The top unofficial speeds from that test were:
1. #20-Tony Stewart, 186.935
2. #5-Kyle Busch, 185.452
3. #97-Kurt Busch, 184.237
4. #22-Scott Wimmer, 183.511
5. #16-Greg Biffle, 182.414
Yates chiefs reiterate that Buskirk interim replacement: During a press conference on Friday with Robert Yates, Doug Yates, Todd Parrott, Dale Jarrett, Elliott Sadler, Doug Yates and Eddie D'Hondt - the group reiterated that Kevin Buskirk is filling in for crew chief on the No. 38 Ford strictly on a short term basis.
Sadler joked that his 'crew chief wish list has already been given to Santa'. Among the rumored top contenders for that ride is Tommy Baldwin, Jr. (current crew chief on the No. 9 Dodge). Baldwin and D'Hondt are long time friends and fielded a car together in 2002 and 2003 in the NASCAR Busch series.
