TONY STEWART, NO. 20 HOME DEPOT PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:

"It was better than it was in practice. The track has just got a lot more grip in it. The car drove good. I probably could have gone a little bit faster, but I just didn't know how hard I could push it. I ran the first lap and tried to step it up for the second lap, but I may have been able to get another tenth if I had tried a little harder."

IS IT FUN TO DRIVE A PLACE LIKE THIS WHEN IT'S GOT THAT MUCH GRIP IN IT? "No, it doesn't change it that much. There is a lot of skill that goes into running a track like this, but I like tracks that you've got to lift and brake for. I've always been partial to short tracks, so a two-mile track is not my favorite. But, don't get me wrong - this is a really nice facility and the people are always really excited when we come out here, so that makes it fun to be out there for them."

JOHNNY BENSON, NO. 10 VALVOLINE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:

"It was pretty good. It got through one and two pretty good, so I gave it everything I had in three and four. Not that I didn't in one and two, but I really smoked it down into three a lot further than I had been all day. I just hit the track a little bit and it slid me up, but I'm real happy. I'm really proud of everybody on this race team."

Ken Schrader, NO. 36 M&M'S PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:

ARE YOU HAPPY WITH THE DIRECTION YOU GUYS ARE GOING SO FAR THIS WEEKEND? "Yeah, because we kind of backed up a little bit in practice, so it was hard to really say. We didn't wind up where we wanted. We picked up a lot of time, but we just made so many changes. I just wasn't sure what it was going to do and it kind of caught me off guard."

WHAT KIND OF IMPACT DOES THE WEATHER HAVE WHEN IT COOLS DOWN SO MUCH FOR QUALIFYING? "It's not a real big deal. It just puts more grip in the track for everybody. Today it just went from cold to colder. It's not like it went from warm to cold, so it's no big deal."
