Mike Bliss Brings Home 22nd Place For Tommy Baldwin Racing In Auto Club 500

(Fontana, CA) February 21, 2010 -- Mike Bliss was able to rebound from last weekend's 42nd place finish in the Daytona 500 by taking 22nd place in Sunday's Auto Club 500. Bliss consistently kept the No. 36 Tommy Baldwin Racing Chevrolet in the top 30 and was able to make a late pass of the No. 6 car to produce the best finish of the young season for TBR.

"The race definitely ended good for us," said Bliss. "We were up and down today, but we finished strong. Auto Club Speedway is always a tough track, and it was nice to have a solid finish after struggling last week in the Daytona 500. Since we were out early last week, this was really our first full outing together as a team. I felt really good about the effort and overall things went well. We beat some really good cars today so that tells you that the #36 Chevy was pretty strong."

Bliss started the race 17th after a strong qualifying run on Thursday. The 17th place starting position was the highest starting position in Tommy Baldwin Racing's brief Sprint Cup history. The 22nd place finish also marks the highest finish for Tommy Baldwin Racing at the Auto Club Speedway, beating the previous top finish of 36th, last year in the 2009 Auto Club 500. With the solid finish, the team now sits 34th in the Sprint Cup Series point standings after two races.

Mike Bliss and Tommy Baldwin Racing head to Las Vegas next weekend for the Shelby American on Sunday February 28th. The No. 36 Chevy will carry a special Kim Kardashian Fragrance paint scheme for the race.
