Schrader's Thoughts On California Speedway...
"We decided to go out to California and test this season to improve on last year's performance out there. We unloaded the trailer more than a second faster in January than we ran last year, and that was with the same tires. The car was really fast, and we were really happy with our test. Hopefully what we learned during the test will show on the track."
"M&M's"® Racing At California Speedway...
* The polls are open and ready for NASCAR fans at California Speedway to come and vote for their favorite new "M&M's"® color - pink, purple or aqua - as part of the "M&M's"® GLOBAL COLOR VOTE(tm). The special voting tent is located in the Midway near souvenir alley. The tent will be open Thursday from 5:30-8:30 p.m.; Friday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.; Saturday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m.-12 p.m.
For NASCAR fans, the vote isn't just about picking a new color candy for the famous "M&M's"® mix. The winning color will also be the color car that Schrader will drive (and the color fire suit he will wear) for the Bristol night race in August. Those who can't make it out to the track, can log onto www.mms.com to cast a ballot.
"I'm really excited that "M&M's"® would use our race car as part of the promotion," Schrader said. "People around the world are voting for a new color, and the race team is part of it. We're having a lot of fun with it, but I just don't know what color I'm gong to vote for."
* Although Schrader hasn't taken the checkered flag at California Speedway in his Winston Cup car, he has two wins to his name at the track. Schrader won the 1997 and 1998 Winston West events at California and he finished second at the track in the 1999 and 2000 Winston West race. He also has two poles to his credit at the track.
