IS IT HOTTER HERE THAN IT WAS IN BRISTOL LAST WEEK: "Bristol I think was hotter than this. It was hot. So much humidity in Bristol makes it a warm one. Here it's a little bit better with more air circulating on a two-mile race track then in a half-mile. You know Bristol being a bowl the air is pretty stagnant. It's not as hot here as it is there. "
IS THE WHETHER GOING EFFECT THE RUN? "It's just going to make the track slick. As a driver we race so much each and every weekend that you can pretty much get yourself used to the hot weather. You race in Sears Point on a road course and things like that, I mean it's hot out there. Indy is always hot in early August. We're used to it. The track is going to be slick. This is a very slick race track especially in turn two. With Big Red shining down on the asphalt it's going to make for some pretty interesting qualifying. I think its going to make qualifying very important for some of these go or go home drivers. Its going to be a pretty interesting day."
DID YOU GET TO MEET NARDELLI LAST WEEK? "I did. I'm a big Nardelli fan and I told him that as soon as I saw him, because of what he's done for Home Depot in racing. He's a big race fan. He's at a ton of races. You want your head guy involved in the sport, so for him coming over to Dodge I know that Dodge is going to be very active in this sport, especially with him running it. I'm glad that he's coming over and I think it's going to be good for all the Dodge teams."
WHAT'S IT GOING TO TAKE TO DO WELL HERE THIS WEEKEND? "You know we've gotta get our program a lot better on 1.5 mile and two-mile tracks. We've struggled a lot with the old car. We struggled a lot at Michigan, and this is pretty much the sister track to Michigan, so we'll see. We've changed things around. We're trying some new things this weekend, so hopefully we'll hit up on it. We think that we've got qualifying pretty well figured out, now we just have to work on the race a little bit."
