No. 12 Penske Dodge Charger News and Notes

* This Week's Charger... The No. 12 Penske Dodge team will use chassis PRS 604 during Sunday's 500-mile event. PRS 604 is a brand new car to the No.12 Penske Dodge Charger fleet.

* Staying Out West... David Stremme will not make the return trip to North Carolina after Sunday's Auto Club 500. Stremme, along with a number of other NASCAR Cup Series drivers, will spend a couple of extra days on the West Coast soaking up the sights before heading to Las Vegas for the third event of the 2009 season.

* Come and See Me... Stremme will be signing autographs at the Penske Racing souvenir trailer on Sunday, February 22 at 11 am PST. The Penske Racing trailer is located along the front stretch at Auto Club Speedway

* Friend of Mine... Stremme will join fellow NASCAR Cup Series driver Jimmie Johnson on Thursday, February 19 for the "Fast Cars and Country Stars" event at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif. The event will include an autograph session for fans as well as country music newcomer Jason Aldean.

David Stremme on driving at Auto Club Speedway

"The Auto Club Speedway is a great track. You can race two- and three-wide all day. If your car is not working on the bottom of the track, you can move to the high side and try the upper groove. Roy [McCauley] and the engineering staff have worked really hard on our intermediate program over the off-season and I am hoping it will pay off this weekend.

I am glad that we made it through Daytona and are heading to race tracks where we can control what happens on the track. Daytona is a place where someone else's mistake can take you out. You are gambling all day. We now have the ability to control where we are on the track and how we make passes."

Crew Chief Roy McCauley on racing at Auto Club Speedway

"I am excited about going to California. We have really been spending a lot of our time trying to improve our intermediate cars and this will be our first big test to see if the changes have paid off. The Auto Club Speedway is a great track that has really been good to the Penske organization. We know what we need to do on our west coast swing and I am confident we will be happy with our results."
