David Stremme on driving at Auto Club Speedway
"The Auto Club Speedway is a great track. You can race two- and three-wide all day. If your car is not working on the bottom of the track, you can move to the high side and try the upper groove. Roy [McCauley] and the engineering staff have worked really hard on our intermediate program over the off-season and I am hoping it will pay off this weekend.
I am glad that we made it through Daytona and are heading to race tracks where we can control what happens on the track. Daytona is a place where someone else's mistake can take you out. You are gambling all day. We now have the ability to control where we are on the track and how we make passes."
Crew Chief Roy McCauley on racing at Auto Club Speedway
"I am excited about going to California. We have really been spending a lot of our time trying to improve our intermediate cars and this will be our first big test to see if the changes have paid off. The Auto Club Speedway is a great track that has really been good to the Penske organization. We know what we need to do on our west coast swing and I am confident we will be happy with our results."
