After Thursday on track testing action, Fan Fest will host question and answer sessions with the drivers for the fans.

With the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season on the horizon, fans and teams, alike, head to Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway for the yearly Preseason Thunder event to be held Jan. 10-12. In addition to autograph and question-and-answer sessions for fans' enjoyment, the teams will hit the track all three days to test their new sixth generation racers in preparation for Speedweeks festivities, coming in February.

"There has been a lot of work put into the development of the Gen-6 car by the manufacturers, teams and NASCAR," NASCAR Vice President of Competition Robin Pemberton said. "It will be exciting to see the new cars on the track for Daytona Preseason Thunder."

The testing later this week will be the first for the new cars at Daytona, but teams have already tested at NASCAR's other restrictor plate track, Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. Using the results from Talladega, NASCAR has already determined the specification it expects to implement at Daytona next month. Unless unforeseen issues come up during Daytona testing, NASCAR will give teams 29/32-inch restrictor plates when they return in February for the Daytona 500 and other Speedweeks activities. That's the same size plate that was used at Daytona last year.

Spoilers on the back of cars will be four-inches high and 53-inches wide and tilted at a 70-degree angle. NASCAR will mandate that the front grille opening be one-and-three-quarters-inches high and 23 inches wide, with a radiator relief valve set at 32 PSI.

"This test is an opportunity for the teams to prepare their cars for Speedweeks and the 55th running of the Daytona 500," Pemberton said. "This is the teams' test and provides an excellent lead into the upcoming 2013 season."

After the completion of the last test session on Thursday, drivers will sign autographs and participate in fan question and answer sessions. Drivers scheduled to participate include Greg Biffle, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne, Jamie McMurray, Tony Stewart, Martin Truex Jr., Jeff Burton, Juan Montoya, Kurt Busch, Mark Martin, Brad Keselowski, Matt Kenseth, Ryan Newman, Danica Patrick, Aric Almirola, Carl Edwards, Clint Bowyer, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Marcos Ambrose, Joey Logano, David Ragan, David Gilliland, Paul Menard, Kyle Busch, Bobby Labonte, Austin Dillon, Trevor Bayne and Casey Mears.
