The Hendrick duo continue to flex their muscles at Daytona.
Teams ran single-car runs during the sixth and seventh Daytona 500 practices today, which to little surprise saw race pole-sitter Jeff Gordon and Duel 1 victor Dale Earnhardt Jr. at the top of the charts for both.
In the morning session, only 14 cars made an apperance on track and Gordon's speed of 193.079mph (46.613 seconds) was the best of all drivers. Michael Waltrip and Martin Truex Jr. were his closest pursuers. The driver of the No. 24 also ran the most laps at 17.
The second session continued the pattern of single-car runs, but a total of 25 made their way onto the circuit this time around. Earnhardt bested Gordon's earlier lap with a 194.405mph (46.295 seconds). Hendrick teammates Kasey Kahne and Jimmie Johnson followed closely behind.
The Cup teams get one more chance to practice tomorrow before the Daytona 500.
