LOUDON, N.H. (September 17, 2000) -- Elliott Sadler started Sunday's race from the 7th position and finished 13th. Sadler ran inside of the top-10 for the first 100 laps before the first caution of the day came after Scott Pruett spun exiting turn 4. Sadler fought an ill-handling car for the next 100 laps but found the sweet spot for the final third of the race.
Quoting Elliott: "This was exactly what we needed -- a good weekend from beginning to end. We've had our share of bad luck this season. We've taken not so great cars and finished in the top-15 and we've had awesome cars that didn't even make it to halfway. One race can't be a turning point but it is definitely a start.
"I don't know if the restrictor plate is a solution to the tragedies we had this year at Loudon but I can guarantee you it made a track that's already tough to pass even tougher. Track position was key and the drivers weren't giving each other much room. It was an exciting race from my viewpoint and we had some close calls. I had a 'birds eye view' of several incidents but we were fortunate enough to make it out of harms way.
"We still have a lot of racing to do this season and we're going to some tracks where I feel like we can be competitive. Charlotte and Atlanta are high on my list so we'll just take what we can get for the rest of this season. CITGO has been behind us 100% all year and I just want to thank them for all they've done for us. We want to give them some strong runs between now and November."
