* Patrick Carpentier is aiming for his 13th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start and his first at Delaware's Dover International Speedway. The track, famously known as the "Monster Mile," is a treacherous one-mile oval that features 24 degree banking and a concrete surface.

* Carpentier is currently outside the top 35 in owner points and must qualify his No. 10 Bumper to Bumper Dodge on time to make the starting grid for Sunday's Dover 400.

FIRST CUP RACE IN BUMPER TO BUMPER COLORS FOR CARPENTIER

While Gillett Evernham Motorsports teammates Kasey Kahne and Elliott Sadler have already laced up their racing boots for a ride in a Bumper to Bumper Dodge, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year candidate Patrick Carpentier will be making his first series start in the familiar red, yellow, and black Dodge.

Carpentier drove the No. 9 Auto Value Dodge to a fifth place finish in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Mexico City's Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. The 36 year-old Quebec native is elated to be representing Bumper to Bumper in the Sprint Cup Series:

"When I joined Gillett Evernham Motorsports last year, I was told that Bumper to Bumper was a fun sponsor to drive for," said Carpentier. "Being a car guy myself, I can relate to their employees and store owners and know they have a true understanding of automobiles and auto parts.

"We already got a top-five finish this year in the Nationwide car, so now we have to back that up with a good run in the Bumper to Bumper Dodge in the Cup Series."
