Matt Kenseth, driver of the No. 17 DeWalt Ford Fusion, will be trying for the Dover sweep this weekend after capturing the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race here in June. Kenseth spoke about one of his favorite race tracks and the chase in general Friday before practice.

MATT KENSETH -- No. 17 DeWalt Ford Fusion

EARLIER THIS WEEK A RELEASE CAME OUT SAYING JACK WAS CONSIDERING SELLING PART OF THE TEAM TO JOHN HENRY. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT? "I don't know. I really don't know anything about it."

YOU WON THE LAST RACE HERE AT DOVER. WHAT'S YOUR STRATEGY THIS TIME? "Hopefully the same. Our strategy is the same every race -- just go out and run as hard as we can and try to finish up as high as we can, so the strategy hasn't really changed."

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE DOVER TRACK? "I always look forward to coming here. It's a cool track. It's a lot of fun driving around here. We ran well last time we were here, so we always have high hopes, but you've got to be able to do it every week."

YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE CHASE? "There are still nine races left. Obviously Kevin got a good start and he's out front right now, so we've just got to work as hard as we can every week and finish the best we can."

A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT TALLADEGA. WHAT ABOUT YOU? "You can gain or lose points at any race track. At Talladega there's more of a chance of a wreck and being caught in it, but I'm probably less concerned than any other year just because our speedway cars have been running so much better than what they used to, and we've usually been in the lead draft the last few races. Hopefully, our car will run good enough to stay in front of the trouble, if there is any."

DO YOU THINK YOU COULD WIN THERE? "I don't know. Our cars have been capable of winning some plate races. Both Daytonas, I think we probably had if not the best car, one of the best cars, but I just haven't figured out how to finish it off yet."

DO YOU THINK IT WILL BE A WILDCARD TYPE OF RACE? "It can happen every week. I mean, look at last week. Look at Jimmie and Kyle last week and that was at Loudon, so anything can happen at any race track."

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON THE REPAVING AT TALLADEGA? "I haven't been there yet, so I have no idea. I'm sure it's gonna be smooth and I'm sure handling won't matter at all, which it usually doesn't there, so I haven't been there. I have no idea what it looks like or what it drives like or anything."

DO YOU DO ANYTHING DIFFERENT NOW IN THE CHASE THAN BEFORE? "Really, you finish as high as you can every week -- go out and put forth your best effort. You always go out aiming to win, but you try to finish the best you can, try to lead laps and get as many points as you can every week. The only car we can control is the 17, so if those other guys run better than you and beat you that day, they're gonna get more points than you so there's really not a lot we can do about that, except to work as hard as we can on our car."

DO YOU THINK TEAMS PLAY MINDGAMES WITH EACH OTHER? "I don't know. I don't analyze it that much. I don't really worry about it. Like I say, all we can do is control our car. All we can do is work on the 17 and finish as high as we can. We're just gonna work on our car and not really worry about what anyone else does."
