Reutimann Discusses Racing at Dover International Speedway
What do you expect at Dover for this weekend?
"I really like going to Dover. It's a fast track for its size and I've had some pretty good runs there in the Truck and Nationwide Series. Actually, we had a top-five run in the Nationwide car back in June so you always feel good going back to a track where you've had strong runs in the past.
On the Cup side, we haven't put up the same strong numbers but I've only had two starts there in the Cup car. I think that with the way we've been running as of late that we have reason to be confident heading into Dover this weekend. I wasn't very pleased with our car last week in New Hampshire but overall we came out with a good finish. It's just a string that we need to continue through these last races of the season to position this team for next year."
It seems that everyone is noticing the #44 Team a little more as of late? Is it nice to have the acknowledgement of how you've been running of late by the media and your fellow competitors?
"It's always nice to have someone acknowledge when you're doing a good job. But for me it's mostly about the guys on the team getting the recognition they deserve. I'm really proud of my team and this organization for all of the hard work they are putting in. It's what they've been doing all season but we're just seeing some good results these past few races.
It's been good to string a couple of strong runs together to show this team is capable of running up front. As a driver you always want the respect of your fellow competitors and proving that you can run up front is part of that process. It's been a good experience not just for me but for this team as well."
