CARL EDWARDS -- No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion (Finished 2nd)

"We had an awesome Ford Fusion. It was a fun day. The first pit stop we came in leading. I drove right past my pit. I was going for my Busch pit that I had yesterday, so that was a little bit of a bad deal, but we got back up to the front. We had just a little bit of a slow pit stop on the last round and that got us back there, but we made it back up to second. It was a lot of fun. That's the best car I've ever had here and that was a lot more fun than in the past. I'd like to congratulate Jeff Burton. He helped me a lot early in my career and it's cool to see him get a win."

TRACK POSITION SEEMED MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER TODAY. WHY? "I'm not certain, but for me it's just that clean air. It just feels like we rely so much on aero forces to make the cars fast. I know my car at the beginning was just unbelievable and anytime I could get away from everybody and be in clean air, I was in a way better position. I know I was swatting flies when I was in a group -- just loose and sliding all over -- so it's probably just a function of the aero forces we use to keep the cars stuck."

THE GUYS WHO PITTED UNDER GREEN, WERE YOU GOING TO STAY OUT AND DID IT JUST HAPPEN TO WORK IN YOUR FAVOR? "I know Wally Brown, my crew chief, we were just gonna stay out as long as we could and hope for what happened to happen and it worked out. But that whole deal originating from the pit stop before, deciding whether to stay or come, and I was 50-50, and Wally decided to play it safe and obviously we all did and that was a good call."

ANY TIRE ISSUES FOR YOU? "I asked the same question. What was it like sixty-something and we were supposed to go ninety-something. I thought, 'Man, if they're already blowing tires.' I was worried, but they said ours were good."
