STERLING MARLIN (No. 40 Coors Light Dodge Intrepid R/T) Don't look now but Sterling Marlin and the Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates team is bringing chassis No. 115 to Atlanta for the NAPA 500. Chassis 115 has been Marlin's secret weapon since its debut at Michigan in June. It finished third in that event, second in the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, first at Michigan in August, fifth at Kansas, first at Charlotte and fifth last week at Homestead. With six straight top five finishes and an average finish of 2.83, Marlin hopes to contend for his first victory at the 1.54-mile track. Marlin finished fifth in the Pennzoil 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He climbed from fifth to fourth in the NASCAR Winston Cup point standings. He now trails third-place Tony Stewart by just 74 points and point leader Jeff Gordon by 438. Marlin is the only driver who has remained in the top 10 in points all season. He is one of just five drivers to score 18 or more top-10 finishes in the first 34 races of the season. Marlin has competed in 34 races at Atlanta.
