Derek White to make Sprint Cup debut at New Hampshire

White has teamed up with Circle Sport for the 19th Cup race of the season.

At the age of 44, Derek White is set to make his NASCAR Sprint Cup debut this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Driving the No. 33 for Circle Sport, the Canadian hopes to be the first international driver to start a Cup race this season. Alex Kennedy is the most recent pilot the Joe Falk-owned machine, finishing 40th at Kentucky last weekend.

White could also be the first non-US driver to start a race this year, should he manage to make the field . With 44 cars on the provisional entry list, one team will be sent home. He will be pulling double duty, also running the No. 13 on the Xfinity side.

The Canadian has 22 combined starts in Xfinity/ Trucks, finishing as high as 18th and 21st. He's also run 35 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series races since 2009, scoring two top tens.
