Robby Gordon a Front Runner in Thursday's Practices

Daytona Beach, Fla., (June 29, 2006) -- Robby Gordon's No. 7 Harrah's Chevrolet was among one of the fastest cars during both of today's practice sessions in preparation for Saturday night's Pepsi 400 at the "World Center of Racing," Daytona International Speedway. Posting the ninth fastest time in first practice and following that up with the third fastest in final practice, Gordon was able to gain confidence heading into Friday's qualifying session as well as Saturday night's main event at the 2.5-mile superspeedway.

"I'm pretty satisfied with what we were able to accomplish in today's practices," said Gordon. "Since this is an impound race, we didn't make any qualifying runs today because being in race trim was far more important.

"The car's numbers from the wind tunnel looked good we're not at all surprised by the times we are seeing. We'll try our best to keep our fenders clean during the race Saturday night and hopefully avoid the big wrecks and put the No. 7 Harrah's Chevy in Victory Lane."

Qualifying for Saturday's Pepsi 400 is slated for 4:35 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on SPEED Channel.
