CARL EDWARDS -- No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion (Finished 7th)

"We made it through. We've got a great car. It's gonna be a good race. I'm excited about the 500."

YOU STAYED OUT WHEN A LOT OF OTHER CARS PITTED NEAR THE END. WAS THAT TO STAY IN FRONT OF ANY POTENTIAL TROUBLE? "Yeah. We just thought we'd stay out and try to hang out there in the front. If I wouldn't have slid up a little bit and let Newman get by, I think we would have been in a lot better position, but it worked out."

SO YOU'RE OPTIMISTIC FOR SUNDAY? "Oh yeah. It's awesome. It's gonna be good. I was worried it was gonna be too slow, but it's gonna be fine."

MATT KENSETH -- No. 17 DeWalt Ford Fusion (Finished 5th)

"I thought it was pretty good. I thought I learned a lot about the draft. I had a lot of fun. Carl worked with me real good and the 9 and the 29 before he broke. Then I got hooked up with the 2 and Kurt has always been really good at this kind of racing and we've been able to work together in the past. We kind of got hooked up and were able to stay in the front until the guys came on new tires."

LAST YEAR YOU HAD A GOOD CAR. IS THIS THE SAME CAR? "It's all the same stuff we ran both races last year and I feel good about our equipment. I think it's really good. The guys had a great pit stop today, so it was a good warm-up for Sunday. I feel pretty confident."

YOU STAYED OUT AND DIDN'T PIT. WHY? "Chip wanted to stay out. I was kind of thinking we needed tires because of what went on this week, but the track was cooler. We were in the front the whole time. We did a good job of saving of our tires, so we just wanted to stay out and stay ahead of the transfer spots. We knew a bunch of the guys were gonna stay out, so it was a good call. If we wouldn't have had all of those laps in a row at the end there, we would have been able to hang on, but Gordon came on new tires and he had all the help and he's real good at it."

HOW DO YOU FEEL FOR SUNDAY? "I feel great. I've been really happy with my car. The guys had great pit stops. We've got a couple new guys there and I feel really good about it. I think we've got one of the best teams on pit road and I think we've got a car that's capable of contending."

RICKY RUDD -- No. 88 Snickers Ford Fusion (Finished 22nd)

"It ran good early. Somebody got in my right-front fender and the car started getting really tight, and then after that we couldn't run. We just got back in the middle of that mess, and by the end of the race we just peeled out of there. We just backed up."

WAS THE CAR RUNNING HOT? "We were running a little hot, not terrible, but I had to keep ducking out and air. But that didn't really affect anything. What got us was we were just a little bit tight and then somebody run into the right-front fender, I don't remember who it was, but came across the right-front fender and they're really super-sensitive and when that happened, the car was already tight to begin with, but just made it where you couldn't even turn it."

CAN YOU TAKE WHAT YOU LEARNED TODAY AND APPLY IT TO SUNDAY'S DAYTONA 500? "Actually, it went very well until about 15 or 20 laps from the end. It actually went very well. They're sitting in line, and we were fourth, fifth in line, sixth in line, something like that, just sort of riding, waiting for the end of the race to get there. Then, got into my left-front fender. All we've got to do is pretty much knock the dent out and work on the tape issues a little bit and we're actually fairly close. At the end, we knew we couldn't go up there and do anything, so we just got out of the mess."

JAMIE McMURRAY -- No. 26 Crown Royal Ford Fusion (Finished 13th)

"It's probably as good as it gets for a Daytona race because you're running two- or three-wide on new tires. If your car drives good, it's fun. I've had races here like that. Our car's really fast, it's just really tight. I had a hard time making it turn all day. I've been here before and had a car that drove very well, and it was really slow, and that's no good. So, hopefully we can make this drive better by Sunday."
