David Reutimann Makes Daytona 500 Line-up in Domino's Pizza Toyota

Daytona Beach, FL -- David Reutimann, driver of the #00 Domino's Pizza Toyota in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, finished 28th in the second Gatorade Duel at Daytona International Speedway today, but it was Boris Said's finish of 12th that helped David Reutimann and the #00 Domino's Pizza Toyota secure a spot in the 49th running of the Daytona 500.

"I was sitting on top of the hauler trying not to watch the last laps of that first Gatorade Duel but I could not help it. It was so close that I did not know we were in at first but that changed when my Dad came up and hugged me saying congratulations. I immediately felt relief when I was told that I was officially in the Daytona 500," said David.

There were two scenarios in-which David could qualify for the Daytona 500. The first was David racing his way in by finishing first or second out of the non-point teams in the second Gatorade Duel and the second was if one of the non-point drivers who qualified-in during Sunday's Bud Pole qualifying finished first or second out of the non-point teams in either Gatorade Duel, then David would race in the Daytona 500.

As it turns out, the second scenario worked for David. Boris Said, who secured a spot during Bud Pole qualifying, raced his way into the Daytona 500 by finishing in the top two of non-point cars in the first Gatorade Duel.

"I am extremely happy for my race team and Domino's Pizza. Everyone affiliated with the #00 Domino's Pizza team has worked so hard leading up to this and now it feels awesome to know that we will be in the Daytona 500," said David.

The second Gatorade Duel was not as kind to David as the #00 Domino's Toyota finished 28th, retiring early with an electrical problem but the team will have two practices before the Daytona 500 to get the #00 Domino's Pizza Toyota in competitive shape. With the 28th finish the #00 Domino's Pizza Toyota will start 41st when the green flag falls this coming Sunday.

Watch for the debut of Raybestos Rookie of the Year contender David Reutimann and the #00 Domino's Pizza Toyota this Sunday in the 49th running of the Daytona 500. More information can be found on the Web at www.teamdominos.com.
