BUDWEISER SHOOTOUT RACE NOTES

Chassis

* Johnson will pilot chassis No. 547 in Saturday night's season-opening event. The car has only been driven one other time -- to a runner-up finish at Daytona International Speedway last July.

* Johnson last drove backup chassis No. 482 to a sixth-place result at Talladega Superspeedway in October.

DAYTONA 500 QUALIFYING NOTES

* Johnson started seventh in last year's Daytona 500.

* He has started the historic event from the pole two times: in his 2002 Daytona 500 debut and again in 2008.

* In eight Daytona 500 starts, Johnson has qualified outside the top 10 only once. He started 21st in 2007.

JIMMIE JOHNSON:

HEADING INTO DAYTONA AND THE START OF THE SEASON, WHAT DO YOU THINK THE TEAM'S CHANCES ARE OF WINNING FIVE IN A ROW? "That seems to be the question on everyone's mind and I've been getting it a lot. My answer is that we're going to try our hardest. We've got all the things in place to be successful. I think this team is as strong as or stronger than it's ever been. I think everyone's hungry for another title. I know a lot of other teams are working hard and gearing up for the season but I think we have everything in place to make a run at it."
