Behind the Wheel with Bobby Labonte
"I had fun in the Shootout last weekend, but now it's time to really get down to business in the 500. Daytona is a really special track. It's going to be a long day, but I'm looking forward to officially getting the 2010 season kicked off with TaxSlayer.com on board the No. 71."
"The DAYTONA 500 is such a historic race, and getting a win here means everything to a driver. Knowing that you're a part of a small and elite group of drivers to make it to Victory Lane here would be a really special feeling."
"Like any superspeedway, the speeds are high and you're going full throttle the entire way around the track. I feel like we've got a really good car, but you always need a little bit of luck on your side to be on top in the end."
From the Box -- Doug Randolph
"The DAYTONA 500 is a long and exhausting race but the rewards and prestige that comes along with a victory here is indescribable. We've worked hard on the car in the off-season and I think we have something that will contend for a win and be there in the end. Chevy provided us with some windtunnel time to evaluate both of our cars. We know we've got two good racecars. We also have a really strong motor from Earnhardt Childress Racing Technologies. There's nothing I would like to do more than go to victory lane with my friend Bobby Labonte."
From the Owner -- Kevin Buckler
"I couldn't be more excited to be heading back to my second Daytona 500. It was heartbreaking to miss the field last year by only one transfer spot. The good news is, missing last year's race gave us the determination to go back to the shop and put our heads down and improve. We're not here just to make the field this year. We're here to run strong and compete with the top teams in the Sprint Cup series here at the Daytona 500. I've been to victory lane here at Daytona 10 times as part of our Sportscar operation, and I gotta tell you, there is no greater feeling. The restrictor plate racing here is crazy and this race will be flat out NUTS!! We have made huge progress in the offseason and pound for pound, have one of the toughest little teams going. We need a couple of more great sponsors like TaxSlayer to round out our partnership roster. Other than that we're ready to go."
