Date set for testing of A.J. Allmendinger's 'B' sample

The date for the testing of A.J. Allmendinger's 'B' sample has been set by NASCAR and the Aegis Analytical Laboratories in Nashville, Tennessee, and will be conducted on Tuesday, July 24 at 8 a.m. Central Time.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is off this weekend, so Allmendinger will not miss another week of competition before the sample is analyzed, and it is expected that the results will be compiled in time to allow Allmendinger to compete at Indianapolis - if his sample comes back with a negative result.

The following quote comes from A.J. Allmendinger's camp and is attributed to Tara Ragan, who is the Vice-President of Walldinger Racing Inc.

“We now have a confirmed date for the testing of AJ’s “B” (split specimen) Sample. The test will take place on Tuesday, July 24 at 8 a.m. CDT and be conducted at the Aegis Analytical Laboratories in Nashville. Pursuant to the 2012 NASCAR Rulebook and in line with the procedures, we have elected to have a designated independent toxicologist present on AJ’s behalf. Along with everyone else, we are looking forward to hearing the results as quickly as possible.
