Dale Earnhardt Jr. hit the wall in an accident during Saturday morning's practice session. Dale Earnhardt Jr. hit the Turn 2 wall Saturday at Pocono Raceway and was taken to the hospital for precautionary tests. A CAT scan and Abdominal scan were negative, and he was trying to make it back to the speedway in time for Happy Hour practice. If Earnhardt Jr. was unable to make it, his brother, Kerry, fresh off an ARCA race at Pocono, was in line to practice the car owned by their father in his place.

Earnhardt Jr. did not lose consciousness but went to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown to be sure. He will drive a backup car, meaning he will be in the rear of the field when the race starts.
