NASCAR was forced to throw the caution.
An incredibly bizarre situation took place in the final 100 laps of the regular season finale for NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series at Richmond.
The fourth caution of the race was not for a crash, nor was it for debris. The official reason is cited as 'security.' The actual reason? A (presumably drunk) fan somehow got past track workers and scaled the fence in turn four.
In what could potentially be a very dangerous situation, he sat on top of the curved fencing, dangling above the track as the race went on. Police removed the man and he got a free ride from the track in a cop car.
