ESPN2 and the Nevada News have reported that NASCAR SouthWest Tour driver Chris Trickle is hospitalized in Las Vegas with a bullet lodged in his brain. He was shot while driving on a freeway over pass.

Police are searching for a witness who stopped a city bus to get help, but left before the police arrived.

Trickle is being treated at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
