NASCAR has put in place some interesting rules for this test at Homestead.
NASCAR Sprint Cup teams are testing at Homestead-Miami Speedway today. Six Sprint Cup organizations will take part in the Goodyear test, but their drivers are not invited.
Every Chase team with the exception of Richard Petty Motorsports is present. With the rules not allowing any Chase driver to be in attendance, some interesting partnerships have been formed for this particular test.
Hendrick Motorsports will utilize Sprint Cup rookie Justin Allgaier, Team Penske will use their developmental driver Ryan Blaney, Austin Dillon will test in place of his Richard Childress Racing teammate Ryan Newman, Danica Patrick has been selected to gather info for her Chase teammates, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is the lone Roush-Fenway Racing driver outside the Chase and will test, and lastly, we have Martin Truex Jr. testing with JTG Daugherty Racing (his team and JTG both share a technical alliance with RCR).
