MARLIN FINISHES 28TH IN COCA-COLA 600

CONCORD, N.C. (May 28, 2006)-- Sterling Marlin crossed the finish line 28th in Sunday night's Coca-Cola 600 here at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

"It just wasn't a great night for the Ginn Clubs & Resort Chevrolet," said Marlin. "We chased the racetrack all night and kept throwing changes at it, but we just weren't able to find the right combination. It seemed like we'd get pretty good for a while and start running some good lap times and then the next set of tires or after the next cycle of pit stops we'd find ourselves too tight or too free. Nothing clicked."

Marlin started the 600-mile, 400-lap event 16th but was unable to mount a charge in the circuit's longest race of the season.

"It was a disappointing day, but we aren't giving up," Marlin added. "This team is full of dedicated people and we all want to run at the level we know we're capable of. I'm confident we can put our heads together and work on a strong finish next week."

The NEXTEL Cup circuit makes a trip to Dover International Speedway next Sunday, June 4. The event will be broadcast live on FX beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET.
