Kahne Looking to Continue Win Streak in Hellmann's Dodge Charger

STATESVILLE, N.C. -- Kasey Kahne makes his final Nationwide Series appearance of the season Friday at Lowe's Motor Speedway near Charlotte.

The 28-year-old Washington native will drive the No. 9 Hellmann's Dodge for Gillett Evernham Motorsports. He has posted two victories in each of the 2005, 2006 and 2007 seasons. In 2008, Kahne started nine races posting a season-best, second-place finish at Bristol in March.

This is GEM's fifth year of Nationwide competition. The team owns five victories including one at Lowe's in May 2007.

KASEY KAHNE:

"I'm pumped to head back to Charlotte. It's a track that the Hellmann's team and GEM has had a lot of success at. It's also a track that suites my driving style. You can run the bottom but if you can get your car to work the top, it's usually pretty fast up there. It allows you to carry a lot of momentum off the corners and that's ideal for setting yourself up to make passes.

"If there's any place that the No. 9 Hellmann's team expects to be competitive it's Charlotte. We have run really well there the past few years in both series. So we're excited to try and get this Hellmann's Dodge to victory lane and continue our streak of winning at least once a year."

Kahne's Season: In nine starts, Kahne has led 29 laps, earned one top five and five top-10 finishes. He has two top-five and five top 10 starts. The No. 9 team is 15th in owner points.
