Qualifying was cancelled due to rain at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle held brief Q&A sessions after the postponement was announced.

CARL EDWARDS

"I'm just excited to race. Everything that went on last weekend, I'm excited to get some racing in. It's gonna be fun. We've got a really good car. Greg Biffle was extremely fast in testing and I think if we can lean on that a little bit, we'll be good. I don't know how we would have qualified. I think we were set up or prepared to really give a good effort qualifying, so, for us, raining that out, I don't know if that made a big difference but I'm really ready to race."

ANY NOT-SO-OBVIOUS ADVANTAGES TO STARTING WHERE YOU'LL START?

"The only disadvantage to the way this is working out is Jimmie gets the first pit stall and his pit crew is extremely fast -- like we saw at Kansas. Those pit crews and those pit stalls can make a huge difference, so we'll get a great stall. Jimmie will probably get the best one, but that is an advantage that we get the second pick, the only problem is Jimmie gets the first one and he's unbelievable here."

WHAT HAPPENED WITH YOU AND HARVICK?

"No, I'm not gonna talk about that."

HOW HARD DO YOU TRY TO LEAD THE FIRST LAP?

"Just hard enough. If it works out, I'll try to keep him from leading a lap. The probability is that he will probably lead a lap, so the biggest thing is not to get too excited about the first lap. This is a 500-mile race. I made the mistake before of trying really hard that first lap because of points and caused myself a lot of trouble, so I'm not gonna worry too much about the first lap is what I'm saying."

GREG BIFFLE

"It's pretty hard to beat starting third, but I feel like we were gonna have a car that was pretty fast, but we're definitely gonna take third place and try to get a good spot on pit road. Hopefully, this mist and rain and what-not will get out of here tonight and we'll get all of our practice in tomorrow because that's gonna be important for us to get our cars set up for Saturday night's race and put on a good show. I'm just thankful that we're third in points and we're gonna be able to start up front in this race."

DID YOU THINK YOU HAD A SHOT AT THE POLE TODAY?

"That's something you always try it and I'll let you know whether I'm gonna take third or wanted to qualify because you just don't know. I was real anxious to get on the race track because we learned what we thought was a fair amount at the test. Even though we didn't go into qualifying trim, the first day -- I'm not sure how it shook out -- we were the fastest in race trim and were faster than the guys in qualifying trim. The second night, a lot of guys went to qualifying trim and we were still eighth-quickest with our race trim lap and within four or five or six tenths of Jeff Gordon, which was the fastest. I really felt like we could pick that up switching into qualifying mode, so I was anxious today to get on the race track, but, obviously we'll never know. We'll have to get it set up for the race and see if we can get the car to stay under us for a long run -- get some rubber on the race track."

DOES IT HELP TO HAVE SO MUCH TIME ON THIS TRACK WHEN THE SCHEDULE GETS ALTERED?

"That's a good question because I was complaining, kicking and screaming that we had to do a second test here. I was like, 'I want to take a week off. I don't want to test here again.' Right now, the first day of the test I was so glad we were doing the test and now I'm so thankful that we did that test because that certainly helps all these teams. Everybody was here testing and that certainly got us a big head start on missing out on some practice for this weekend, and it's a lot of confidence that we've run well here and a lot of the teams have been able to test here twice this season, so that little bit of practice we lost today won't affect it."
