KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Budweiser Dodge Charger) Qualified 6th
"We're pretty happy with our Budweiser Dodge. We were good all day in practice and just as good in qualifying. The bonus is we'll have a good pit stall for the race on Sunday which is always important here at Lowe's. It's a long 600 mile race and you really have to be patient. Track position is crucial here, especially the last 100 laps. We've got all day Saturday to work on the Budweiser Dodge and try to dial it in a little bit more. But for now, we're really pleased with how we're running."
ELLIOTT SADLER (No. 19 Best Buy Dodge Charger) Qualified 15th
"I'm really, really happy with my qualifying run. I'm really happy with the effort that we had today. We did not run well at all last week during the all-star weekend. We went home and put our heads together, and it looks like we have a really good car this weekend. That's one of our best qualifying efforts of the year. I'm very proud of my guys. A lot of hard work this week."
HOW WILL THE COOL CONDITIONS PLAY INTO THE RACE? "It's definitely going to play a role, especially come Saturday night with half of it (the race) is in the daytime, and half of the race is at night. We're going to build some adjustability into the car and try to keep the car as comfortable as we can. A good, comfortable car will run really well here, hopefully we'll find one of those on Saturday."
KURT BUSCH (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger) Qualified 17th
"Not a bad lap for our Miller Lite Dodge. We're a little confused about the data we got back from our practice run, so we're going to start over on Saturday and see if we can find a combination that we like. We certainly would have liked to qualify higher to gain a better pit stall, but just missed it a bit. (The car) isn't comfortable to drive right now, so we have to start over and try to get our Miller Lite Dodge better for race day. We've got some work to do that's for sure."
SAM HORNISH JR. (No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger) Qualified 26th
"I say, 'Let's go race now!' We had a really good car in practice. We did some race runs to compare against guys like (Tony) Stewart and (Matt) Kenseth and thought that we were pretty good against them. Anytime you can be close to Tony in race runs, you feel pretty good. We knew that we didn't have a whole lot for them in qualifying trim, but the Mobil 1 Dodge sure feels fast in race trim."
DAVID STREMME (No. 12 Penske Racing Dodge Charger) Qualified 35th
"We're definitely missing on something with the race car today. We made all qualifying runs in practice and just haven't been very good. I screwed up Turns 1 and 2, but the car was so tight that I just couldn't get it to turn."
AJ ALLMENDINGER (No. 44 Hunt Brothers Pizza Dodge Charger) Qualified 38th
"We qualified right about where our times were in practice (40th fastest). I know that our Hunt Brothers Pizza Dodge has plenty of speed in it; we just need to figure out a way to put it down to the track. Elliott (Sadler) seems to have a good race car and Kasey put his Dodge inside the top-10 for qualifying. We just have to work a little harder on Saturday to get our car ready for race day."
REED SORENSON (No. 43 Air Force Dodge Charger) Qualified 42nd
"It's a long 600 mile race, but we didn't help ourselves by qualifying in the back of the field. We were only 37th in today's practice, and we didn't get much better in our qualifying run. Saturday is a new day. We'll just take a look at all the data today and try to make our car better in the last two practice session on Saturday."
