Newly crowned NEXTEL champion Kurt Busch is taking a bite out of the Big Apple this week. Busch has made appearances on The Today Show, Live with Regis and Kelly, The David Letterman Show, and The Best Damn Sports Show Period among others.

In addition to his numerous TV appearances, Busch has taken time out to visit Ground Zero and the New York City Fire Department as part of his whirlwind champions tour.

"I haven't been able to take the smile off my face all week," said an elated Busch.

Things won't be slowing down for Busch anytime soon. He met with media at a lunch at New York's famous 21 Club before being squired off to a round of additional interviews. NEXTEL will toast him this evening at a dinner on top the Marriott Marquis ' View room.

Thursday brings the annual NASCAR press conference, which in addition to Busch will host the entire NEXTEL Top 10, the Champions Dinner at the Empire Room of the Waldorf-Astoria and another celebratory event hosted by NEXTEL.

Champion's week officially wraps up on Friday with the National Motorsports Associations Myers Brothers Breakfast followed by the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series banquet and Champions Ball later that evening.

"It's been a little overwhelming," said Busch. "But I am the face of the first NEXTEL Championship, I will do every thing I can to represent NEXTEL in every way a champion should."
