BALDWIN ON RESTRICTOR PLATES AT NHIS:
"I think that NASCAR did the right thing by doing something after the two deaths there, but I am not so sure that they accomplished exactly what they set out to do. If you took a radar gun and put it down in the corners, you'd probably find that the speed was lost off the corner, not heading into the corner. The straightaway speeds were probably faster too because you could drive deeper into the turns. There wasn't any room to pass and I thought the race was terrible, but I applaud NASCAR for making the effort to make it safer for everybody."
BALDWIN ON DOVER:
"We're bringing back the car we raced at Darlington. It is one of the best cars we have in the shop right now and Ward is really comfortable in it. We have consistently improved at Dover. We were 11th in this race last year and eighth in the spring, so we feel optimistic about the race this weekend."
TESTING AT CHARLOTTE AND KENTUCKY:
The No. 22 Caterpillar Racing team will test a brand new car at Charlotte this week in preparation for the UAW-GM 500 in a couple of weeks. Next week, the CAT team heads to the new track in Kentucky for a test with the new Dodge and other Dodge teams. They'll test the same Pontiac that they're testing at Charlotte and they'll test a new Dodge.
